In 1950, Mafalda “Muffie” Benard moved
to Massachusetts from Montreal where she
had owned her own beauty salon. In 1976,
after many years of being home and raising
her daughter, Denise, Muffie went back into
the beauty business and bought her own salon
in Reading Square. In 2005 she moved it to
its current location and her daughter joined
the business. It was a dream for Muffie to be
working with her daughter and nine other
talented staff.
Since Muffie passed in 2006, Denise
remains dedicated to keeping the same high
standards and quality service that her mother
would be proud of.
Denise attended the Melrose Beauty
Academy and went on to become an educator
for Paul Mitchell System and an educator for
Redken Hair Products. The staff of stylists has
more than 100 years of combined experience
and are hair color specialists.
Salon Muffie offers: shampoos, cut and
styles, color, perms, straightening, and
facial waxing. Salon Muffie also welcomes
customers for prom up-dos, weddings, or for
any other special event.
